Two Persons Die in a Fire at a House in Pamunuwa, Maharagama

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two persons died in a fire at a house in Pamunuwa, Maharagama. 

They include a mother and daughter who were renting the house. 

The house is located on Eksath Subha Sadaka Mawatha, Pamunuwa Road, Maharagama.

According to police, the victims were found on the upper floor of the two-story house.

Homeowner Sustains Burn Injuries in Midigama Attack
The owner of the house, who was on the ground floor at the time of the incident, has also sustained burn injuries.

The father has also sustained critical injuries. 

The injured are currently receiving treatment at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital.

The deceased mother and daughter were aged 55 and 16 years.

Police said that it has not yet been determined whether the incident was a homicide or an accidental fire.

Investigations are ongoing.
