TRCSL to Consider Minister K.D. Lal Kantha’s Complaint Against TV Channel

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) has announced that it will consider the complaint filed by Minister of Agriculture K.D. Lal Kantha against a local television channel today. 

The Director General of the TRCSL, Retired Air Vice Marshal Bandula Herath, stated that the final decision will be announced based on the conclusions reached by the Ministry of Mass Media regarding the matter.

The Minister of Agriculture K.D. Lal Kantha submitted the complaint yesterday evening, calling for an immediate investigation into the television channel for allegedly violating frequency license conditions on a continuous basis.

The complaint alleges the channel has committed serious breaches of The operational license issued by the Ministry of Mass Media and The broadcast frequency license conditions mandated by the TRCSL.
