Revised Foreign Exchange Act To Be Tabled In Parliament Tomorrow (19)

COLOMBO (News 1st): The revised regulations under the Foreign Exchange Act are scheduled to be presented in Parliament for approval tomorrow (19).

Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando says that the amendments will increase the foreign exchange release limits for companies.

Currently, listed companies on the stock exchange can release up to US$ 500,000, a limit expected to rise to US$ 750,000 under the revisions. For unlisted companies, the cap will increase from US$ 150,000 to US$ 200,000.

Dr. Fernando said that this decision aims to support business expansion.

Meanwhile, the revised regulations under the Public Debt Management Act will also be presented to Parliament tomorrow (19).

In addition, the revised Gambling Regulatory Authority Bill, recently approved by the Committee on Public Finance, is scheduled for parliamentary consideration.
